Privacy Policy
Last updated November 3, 2026
Summonn is a game where you catch real animals with your phone. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Summonn app and this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. “We” and “us” means the Summonn team.
The short version
- We collect what we need to run the game: your account, the photos you snap, and where you found each animal.
- Other players only ever see your city, never your exact location.
- We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
- You can ask us to delete your account and your data at any time.
What we collect
Account details. When you join, we collect the details you sign up with, such as your email address or your Sign in with Apple ID, and the username you pick.
Photos you snap. When you snap an animal, the photo is sent to our servers so we can work out what animal it is and turn it into a card.
Location. If you allow it, the app uses your phone’s location to record where you found each animal and to show the map. Your cards only show your city.
Game activity. Your cards, levels, quests, badges and other progress in the game.
Device and usage information. Basic details like your phone model, iOS version, app version, crash reports and how you use the app, so we can fix bugs and make the game better.
Things you send us. If you contact us, enter a weekly hunt or win a prize, we keep what you send, including a mailing address if we need to post you a card.
How we use it
- To run the game: identify animals, make your cards, track your progress and show the map.
- To run weekly hunts and send prizes to winners.
- To keep Summonn safe, stop cheating and abuse, and fix problems.
- To understand how people use Summonn and improve it.
- To send you messages about your account and, if you agree, news about Summonn. You can turn off news at any time.
What other players can see
When you share a card, or take part in a hunt or a leaderboard, other players can see your username, that card and the city it was found in. They can’t see your exact location or your email address.
Who we share it with
We share your information only:
- With service providers who help us run Summonn, such as hosting, animal identification, analytics and email. They may only use it to provide their service to us.
- When the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our players or the public.
- If Summonn is ever sold or merged, as part of that deal. We’ll tell you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Children
Summonn isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information, except anything we have to keep by law. Copies in backups are removed on their normal schedule.
Your choices and rights
- Location: you can turn off location for Summonn in your iPhone’s Settings at any time. Some features, like the map, need it to work.
- Your data: you can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and data.
- Depending on where you live, for example the EU, the UK or California, you may have more rights, such as objecting to how we use your information or complaining to your local data protection authority.
Keeping it safe
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, like encrypting it as it travels between the app and our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t promise absolute security.

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If the changes are important, we’ll also tell you in the app or by email.
